Echo Deer

Echo Deer

Echo Deer sing about love, drinking, death and desire. They blend folk, country, blues and bluegrass with sweet, homespun harmonies. Echo Deer are regular fixtures on Sydney’s Americana scene and the festival circuit, having featured at Newtown Festival, Majors Creek Festival, Gulgong Folk Festival, and the Illawarra Folk Festival.

The band is led by Dave Perram, who cut his teeth playing with Sydney hillbilly blues legends Billygoat & the Mongrels. He’s joined by Ben Prest (The High Ceilings) on double bass, Simon Wegman (The Foreign Electric) on lead guitar, and Mark Duncan (Darko Moody & the Resurrection Machine) on drums.

Echo Deer’s EPs, titled “Side A” and “Side B”, each garnered radio play on Triple J and community radio stations around the country. In 2021, the band recently released the single “Ducky” – a timely reminder that “we all have to quack sometimes”. Echo Deer are currently recording their debut album, which is expected to be released later this year.
