Buttons, The (Brodie Buttons & Friends)

The Buttons describe their sound as “dirt music”. Front man Brodie is a true Australian character who lives and breathes folk music traditions in his daily life bringing to the fore an essence of our land that has been largely drowned out by the hum of progress and modernity. In his songwriting, Brodie weaves tales of the scandals, triumphs and struggles of the shepherds and scoundrels of our onerous past. With an earnest yet jovial presence, he shares an intimacy and perspective that engages both young and old, and leaves audiences with that timeless kind of yearning for the simplicity of yesteryear.

For the Sydney Folk Festival shows The Buttons are: Brodie Buttons joined by Tom Brunnekreef and Andrew Rickert. The Buttons deliver authentic shows with a flavour from the old world in a contemporary context.
