Ry Cooder meets the Delmore Bros with a bit of John Hiatt and Doc Watson thrown in, performed by two handsome and amusing guys (you can tell they wrote this themselves!), utilising two voices, several Gibson guitars, Martin guitars, old time banjo, and mandolin.
John and Andy are performing songs from their first album collaboration 20 Good Summers. Andy is an acclaimed singer songwriter with five albums under his belt. John was a founding member of ARIA award and six-time Golden Guitar winning band the Flying Emus and has a very successful career as screen composer, songwriter, musician and producer.
Andy’s keen musical sensibilities and vintage Gibson electric guitars mixed with John’s more traditional songwriting roots and prowess on his Martin guitars, mandolin and banjo make a perfect musical bed for the stories they tell; stories of earned wisdom, connection and community, family and simple pleasures, time and place, set largely in Kangaroo Valley where both John and Andy live.
